COVID-19 Disability Support Workers

We offer our staff flexible work arrangements; recognise staff performance; provide on-line training to support staff’s professional development in the disability services sector.The Role: As part of our COVID-19 response strategy, we are currently seeking passionate,  dedicated and experienced  Disability Support Workers to help with front line COVID 19 roles supporting vulnerable and complex clients in various locations across the Metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong and regional  Victoria.We currently have immediate start opportunities available. The successful candidates must be willing to work across all areas of disability including confirmed COVID-19 cases. You will be provided with full PPE when working with these clients. We also supply PPE to our clients as safety is our priority. As an experienced Disability Support Worker, you will be working with clients who either have COVID-19 or may be highly susceptible to the virus. Your tasks will include:Provide care in a safe and compassionate way to clients with disabilitiesEnsure compliance with PPE and follow workplace health and safety requirement, including hygiene standards and infection control.Ensure client support needs are met, as per the clients individual support plan. This may include tasks such as domestic assistance, personal care, manual handling, Bowel & Urinary Care, Medication administration, Behavioural Management & Community accessBuild a rapport, and actively engage with your client. Providing reassurance where needed due to Covid-19.Skills and Experience: If you are a passionate and experienced Disability Support Worker who wants work/life balance and to make a real difference in someone’s life, then we have a place for you at CareChoice.Minimum requirements for this role include:Certificate IV in Disability, or other relevant qualification is highly desiredPrevious training and experience working with clients living with physical and/or intellectual disabilityWilling to obtain a new National Police Check at the time of your recruitment process A current First Aid Level II Certificate - inclusive of CPRA current EMPLOYEE Working with Children Check (Victorian)An International Police Check (where applicable)The ability to pass a DWES registry checkCareChoice is playing vital role in providing disability support services to our community.
