Disability Support Worker – East – Sign Language Required

We focus on providing the right person, on time, every time so that our clients can rely on us to achieve their goals.The Role: We are looking for an experienced disability support worker who is also skilled in Sign Language (AUSLAN) to provide support to our client in the Eastern Suburbs who has a hearing impairment.Our client requires an experienced support worker who will be able to communicate fluently with them via Sign Language. The ideal support working will be willing to actively engage with our client whilst taking them out on community access shifts.The shifts will be during the daytime and you will do various activities including swimming, sports and day outings Our client is very active and loves to be out in the community doing activities and engaging with their Support Worker.Your duties will include, but not be limited to:Community Access (car/licence is essential)Home/domestic careActively engaging with your client and building a rapportCommunication/translation if neededExperience working with Down Syndrome would be beneficial but not essentialSupport Worker Profile: If you are a passionate, energetic and experienced support worker who wants work/life balance while making a real difference in someone’s life, then we have a place for you at Carechoice..Minimum requirements for this role include:Current Drivers Licence and reliable vehicleA clear and current police check obtained within the last six monthsA current First aid – Within 3 yearsCPR certificate – Within 12 monthsA current Working With Children Check (Victorian)An international police check (where applicable)A current drivers licenceAbility to engage and build rapport with clientsCertificate IV in Disability, Certificate III in aged care or equivalent is highly desirable but not essentialYou will undertake specific training on how to successfully manage this client and will have ongoing support from our team along the way.
