Disability Support Worker

The CompanyCareChoice is a specialist provider of experienced support staff in disability and complex care. CareChoice provides 24 hour support making a variety of different shifts available, including mornings, afternoons, active nights, sleepovers and weekends. We focus on providing the right person, on time, every time to contribute towards our clients achieving their goals.The Role:We have clients with complex support needs, requiring quality care for their individual programs in Bendigo. As a Disability Support Worker, you will have experience working with clients living with Intellectual Disabilities, who display Behaviours of Concern and who may have mental health illnesses as well. Duties:Your tasks may include but not be limited to the following:Basic Personal Care and Domestic Assistance Coordinate Social OutingsDevelop and assist in Behavioural Management Plans (set boundaries)Build Rapport and Actively Engage with ClientShifts:Please note, these are the different shifts we have available for this program as it is a 24/7 program:Mon-Sun- 2:1 Support - Daytime HoursMon-Sun- 2:1 Sleepover & Active NightsSkills and Experience: If you are a passionate, experienced support worker who wants work/life balance and to make a real difference in someone’s life, then we have a place for you at CareChoice.Minimum requirements for this role include:Certificate IV in Disability or other relevant qualification is essentialPrevious training and experience working with clients living with an Intellectual Disability and who display Challenging BehavioursPrevious training and experience working with clients who have a mental health illnessWilling to obtain a new National Police Check at the time of recruitment A current First Aid Level II Certificate - inclusive of CPRA current EMPLOYEE Working With Children Check (Victorian)An International Police Check (where applicable) AUD Australia - VIC Bendigo, Goldfields & Macedon Ranges Bendigo 3550
